Question: I have a problem with my laptop, (Windows XP Media center Edition, HP Pavillion). When i restart my system i used to get an error message "Generic Host Process for WIN32 Services has encountered a problem and needs to close". I tried several spyware, Torjon and Antivirus scans including Hijackthis and i can able to get solution after fixing it with Winsockxpfix.
But my sound device is disabled after a few minutes when i restart my system, and i get error "There are no active mixer devices available", when i try to open it from taskbar. When i try to open it from control panel i can see all the options are disabled and i can't do anything. Do anyone have solution for this, please suggest me.
Also, my McAfee firewall is giving full access to Application Layer GateWay Service (alg.exe) and Generic Host Process for Win32 Services (svchost.exe). I get the above problem even i block these services.
