I purchased a (Canadian) Toshiba Satellite A100 Laptop (PSAA5C-TA102C) recently. Since the Media Centre software that came with it cannot connect to a domain, I loaded XP Professional.
In the control panel / system / hardware / device manager area, the 'SM Bus Controller' is showing a yellow question mark. No driver is loaded. Toshiba was not able to find the name of this driver or locate where it is (at least not the people I've been talking to in Tech Support) and are not happy at me for loading XP.
The SM (system management) bus controller driver is a part of the chipset, the machine uses an Intel Celeron 'm' 420 @ 1.60 Ghz processor, however I cannot find any chipset drivers for this machine.
If someone has this same machine could you possibly open up device manager and send me the name of the correct 'SM Bus Controller' driver on your machine? At least that's a start. Thanks!
