I have been trying to solve a few problems with a Toshiba Satellite A70 laptop.
It seems to be an overheating problem, but not entirely sure of that.
The problem occurs during any intense disk access, eg... virusscan, defrag, etc...
I managed to get a full scandisk to complete, by sticking the pc in the fridge while it ran, lol.
I checked this site and found there is settlement claim pending by Toshiba:

<snippet>
Plaintiffs in this class action, known as Elihu, et al. v. Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc., claim that Toshiba Satellite® A70, A75, M30X and M35X notebook computers contain a system defect that causes them to freeze, reboot and/or crash, shut down, and/or lock-up with a black screen due to static electricity. Toshiba denies these claims and denies that it did anything wrong. Moreover, Toshiba asserts that it proactively addressed Plaintiffs’ claims by developing and voluntarily providing an effective remedy.

This is the part I am most interested in:
"Toshiba asserts that it proactively addressed Plaintiffs’ claims by developing and voluntarily providing an effective remedy."
I cant seem to find out what the effective remedy is, would appreciate any help, thanks...
