I am having a heck of a time with file security between a VISTA PC and a Windows 2003 server. The server is using file sharing. The VISTA PC connects to the server using a username/password and maps a virtual drive. However, the VISTA system complains the file protection is read-only. I have tried mapping as Administrator, I have added full-control to the directory/files in question for that user. I cannot get it to allow access to those files other than directory list/read only.
I recall that it worked OK when the VISTA machine first was in use. Some s/w got installed, something changed - and now it work allow access. I know this is tough to answer based on the info I have given. Any suggestions to how to work through and deduce the solution are appreciated.
