Default Norton Internet Security 2007 - LU1845 error: how important is it to resolve?

Norton Internet Security 2007
WinXP Home SP2
Live Update 2 errors: LU1845 for "AV IDS defs 2006 Microdefs25" & for "Symantec security software update"

How important is it to resolve the above error? I read an earlier post for SysWorks 2005 & on Symantec's web site for the error that a complete uninstall, reinstall is called for. I want to try to avoid that until I get Windows Vista & a new PC because I'll have to reinstall everything at that time (about a yr from now).

Info: I uninstalled MS Antispyware and SunBelt Counterspy before installing NIS 07. I left SpyBot v1.4 installed because I read various posts on the internet that it was ok. I uninstalled Live Update v3.1 that I noticed afterwards that was on my system. Then I uninstalled Norton System Works 2006 by using its CD.I downloaded and ran the Live Update (lusetup.exe) as Symantec recommended & reran LiveUpdate several times.
Thx! April

I suggest you uninstall NIS 2007 (again) and do the re-install.
Symantec addresses this problem at the link below and gives detailed instructions on the process:
