Default Google Buys New Mobile Phone Technology

The Mountain View company made another move to get closer to a mobile technology after it acquired Jaiku, 'an activity stream and presence sharing service that works from the Web and mobile phones'. As you know, Google strives to increase its presence on the mobile market and every once in a while, it acquires new companies or releases new solutions to support this goal. Today, Google and Jaiku confirmed they reached an agreement to buy the mobile service but no financial terms were disclosed. According to the two firms, a limited number of consumers will be invited into a private beta testing stage to try a new technology powered by Jaiku and supported by Google.Jaiku is joining Google. While it's too soon to comment on specific plans, we look forward to working with our new friends at Google over the coming months to expand in ways we hope you'll find interesting and useful. Our engineers are excited to be working together and enthusiastic developers lead to great innovation. We look forward to accomplishing great things together. In order to focus on innovation instead of scaling, we have decided to close new user sign-ups for now", Jyri Engeström and Petteri Koponen, Jaiku Founders, proudly said today.

The Mountain View company avoided to mention if it plans to use Jaiku for its mobile technologies or the mobile firm's offering remains the same as before the acquisition. However, one thing is sure: the Jaiku products will be improved a lot, as Google will add interoperability with famous web-based solution powered by the super giant.

"We are excited to welcome the Jaiku employees into Google. While it's too soon to comment on specific products and development plans, we'll be working with the Jaiku team over the coming months to expand their technology in ways we hope you'll find interesting and useful. Check back in a few months to see what we've developed", the two companies wrote about their future.
