September is Google's "birth month" for two reasons:
1. Google launched a beta version of its website in September 1998.
2. "On September 21, 1999, the beta label came off [Google's] website." says the Google Corporate History page.
So, depending on which one counts as birth to you, Google is now 8 years old (since beta version) or 7 years old (since full version).
The exact date when Google celebrates it's birthday changes every year but today is the day when the full version was launched, 7 years ago.
Happy 8th Birthday, Google. May your non-evil birthday wishes come true!
