Fortunately, most cartridges can be refilled which can make a big difference in the cost of printing. These refill kits are not quite as easy to use as the original cartridges, however. The first thing you need to make sure of when refilling your ink cartridges is that the refill kit you use is made for your particular model of printer. Most brands and even different models from the same brands use specific types of ink. If you use ink made for an Epson printer in an HP, for example, the print quality will suffer and it may even cause the printer to break down. Most ink refill kits say specifically what models they are designed for. Stay away from any "generic" kits that claim they can be used in any printer - they'll quite likely cause problems. Another thing to be aware of when using ink refill kits is that the empty cartridges can only be reused so many times before they'll break down and either not work at all or print extremely poorly. In most cases, you shouldn't refill a cartridge more than twice before replacing it with a new one. Finally, when you're planning to refill your empty cartridges, do a little research first and find out just how difficult it is with your brand and model. Some cartridges are easier to refill than others, and in some cases it can be quite difficult to do it properly. This can lead to poor printing or other printer problems as well as a mess if the refill spills, leaks or doesn't go as planned. Most websites that sell refill kits offer online instructions for the various printer models, so you can see what's involved before you make your choice. |

The more you refill an ink cartridge, the greater the chance of diminishing the quality of your printout. Don't get me wrong, I love refilling and buying compatible ink cartridges---which are less expensive (as compared to the original) but i only refill the cartridge once and that's it. I've been using HP inkjet cartridges from united digital solutions, Until now, I have yet to come across any damaging result for not using the original...
