I have a HP Pavillion T150.se which only has 512mbit of RAM. I checked the HP site which states I can a max of 1 gig (2x512mbit chips). On the motherboard (Asus) site it states I can have 2 gig of Ram and of course an online supplier says no, no, no you have three slots on that board, you can actually have 3 gig of ram. Now that is very confusing to me.
If I follow HP's advice and just add 512Mbit would it make any difference?
If I follow the advice of Asus and put in 2 x 1gig chips will it damage the machine or something?

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

well, i checked everything, and your motherboard can have a max of 1gb(2x512mb). I'm not sure what will happen if you put 1gb sticks in it, you might get 2gb ram, you might get 1 gb ram, or your computer might not boot. So, my advice, just buy a 512mb, you will notice it speeds up a lot.

So you can just buy a DDR PC2700 333mhz 512MB (184pin), which costs here around €40 ($53)
