System: XP Home SP1, all critical updates installed. Things that I have tried: Installing IE7 twice, ensuring that the option to block all popups is selected and that no other popup blocker is active. Installing adaware Pro and Adwatch, enabling the popup blocker, disabling all other popup blockers. Thoroughly virus scanning with the latest McAfee engine and dats, including heuristic scanning and compressed file scanning. Scanning with Adaware Pro choosing the complete scan, all files. Another clue may be this: Using tabbed browsing, if I choose the option to launch all new links in a new tab, they always launch a new window, even if I choose the rightclick option to open link in new tab... hmmmm Any ideas would be gratefully appreciated. |

NoLop.exe worked! Please run Hijackthis again and put a check next to these entries, while all browsers and other windows are closed click "Fix Checked": R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = O2 - BHO: (no name) - {25E6C7E7-D4F2-9015-36C9-691AE1797B3E} - (no file) O9 - Extra button: (no name) - {e2e2dd38-d088-4134-82b7-f2ba38496583} - %windir%\Network Diagnostic\xpnetdiag.exe (file missing) I noticed that your java is an older version, you might like to install the newer or latest version, the one showing in your log is very vulnerable to Vundo infection. Download Java Software How's the pc going? are the popups gone? |
