Question: I have a server (windows 2003 standard) that cannot open files from shared drives. I can open text files, but no .bat, .exe, .msi, or any other type of file. There error is "Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You do not have appropriate permissions to open this file"
I can create and folders, delete them, copy files, everything but open the file. I can copy the file to the local drive and then run it, I just can't run it from the share. This is a Member Server 2003 Standard and it does not matter what machine I try and connect to. The server is a member of the same groups that all other servers are in and is also in the same OU as the rest of my servers. I am logged in with a domain admiin account that works on every other server in my domain.
Maybe I am overlooking something but I cannot seem to find what or where the permission is.
