1. From the Tools menu, select Internet Options... . 2. Choose the General tab. 3. Under Browsing history, click Delete... . 4. Next to "Temporary Internet Files", click Delete files... . 5. Click Close, and then click OK to exit. But now that you mention actually resizing icons and getting this error, I'm leaning a different way. Please explain again. The Icons for IE7 (on your desktop?) are not accurate when you enlarge them, correct? You could use the Repair Icon function within MS Powertoy TweakUI, but another way to force a full refresh of that ShellIconCache. Right-click the desktop, choose Properties, click the Appearance tab, click the Advanced button. In the list of items, select Icon. The Size is probably set to 32 (the default). Change it to 33 and click Apply. Windows will sort of gray out for a bit and then come back. Now change the icon size back to 32 and click OK - again it will gray and come back. This has forced a complete refresh of the ShellIconCache. IF the problem was related to that cache being corrupted in some way, this will fix it. Caution, this will also realign all your icons on your desktop. An icon within the actual Address Bar of IE7 is considered a favicon, isn't it? |
