I'm getting the 'Server Application Unavailable" error

I have .NET 1.1 apps running fine on the IIS 6 server. I istalled VS 2005 and converted an ASP.NET app over to 2.0. Trying to access this site resulted in

"Server Application Unavailable
The web application you are attempting to access on this web server is currently unavailable. Please hit the "Refresh" button in your web browser to retry your request.

Administrator Note: An error message detailing the cause of this specific request failure can be found in the application event log of the web server. Please review this log entry to discover what caused this error to occur. "

I did some searching for this error and found that 1.1 and 2.0 apps cannot exist within the same website so I moved the app over to another website, set the website's properties (and the apps properties) to 2.0 and I am still getting the same error.

You will need to run 1.1 sites in a separate application pool than 2.0 sites. If you try to run them in the same application pool, your site will throw the above error.
