Question: Hi...I have been trying to remove the about:blank with onemoresearch.net/pop/pop.php for the past three hourse with no success. I was hoping someone could please help me get rid of this and the unwanted pop-ups ?

I have used the latest version of CWshreeder and it says that it removes the CWS.googlems but this does not fix my problem. I have also tried the following with no success:

1. Adaware Personal SE edition
2. Spysubtract
3. cclean

Does anyone have any tips to help me remove this trojan horse ? The only way I can get it to stop is to go to Tools-Internet Options-Advanced and dissable 3rd party extensions but this is only a temp fix and I want a permanent one. Below is my hijackthis log. Any help will be greatly appreciated:

hmmmm i think i got confused there.... they are added in the Trusted Zones of IE.... not in the Hosts file.... sorry, im still recovering from the fever =\

try this, boot in safemode and login with your user, open IE, and remove the above two wesbites from the IE trusted zones, then restart and boot in safemode again, this time login as Adminsitrator, check if the sites are added in this account also, if yes then remove then from here too, otherwise restart and come back to normal mode!
check the results now.... and sorry again for the above suggestion to waste your time =\
