Default Blurry Text on New LCD Monitor - How Do I Resolve?

I've got a Dell Dimension 4600 running XP Pro. A few weeks ago, we decided to upgrade from our very old CRT monitor to a nice, new 19" LCD monitor. We've tried two Samsung LCDs, the last one being a 930B, and now have an LG L1920P installed.

On all three LCDs. the text is blurry. Not horrible, but not crisp either.

I've got a gold-plated digital cable connecting the monitor to the PC (DYNEX DVI Cable - purchased at Best Buy). The video card is new and is a GeForce 6200, though I don't think its making a noticable improvement over the older card, which I think was a GeForce 5200. Both use nVidia chipsets.

Resolution is set correctly. I turned off the virus scan when installing and unistalling the drivers. All drivers are up to date.

Am I simply having bad luck with monitors or is there a solution I should try?

You could also check to see if clear type is turned on or off. Turning it on or off may fix the problem or exacerbate it.

It doesn't hurt to try it though. Right click on empty space on desktop > Appearance > Effects > Checkmark the second box if it it isn't already checkmarked > Select or ClearType or Standard from the menu. Try all three settings.
