Frequency Out of Range

Question: Just replaced my old monitor with a eMachine flat panel monitor. Now when I start a PC Video game I get the message, "Frequency Out of Range". I cannot see the settings within the game to change the frequency. Is temporarily hooking upmy old monitor the only solution? Thanks!!

Yes, hook up your old monitor, open Display Properties (control panel or right click the desktop), go to the settings tab, check that the current screen resolution is supported by your LCD screen.

next, click on the advanced button (still in display properties).

You need to check the values in the Monitor tab (screen refresh rate) compare this to you LCD documentation (you may need to decrease this value).

Do this and all will be well again.
