Default Extend System partition on Dynamic disc into unallocated space (Dell Server)

I have a Dell PowerEdge 830 with 2 x 80Gb SATA drives. Disk 0 has a dell diagnostic partition followed by a 12Gb System partition and the rest of the drive is now unallocated. I have had this mirrored (using windows) to the second drive but have broken this for the following purpose. I have installed 2 new 320Gb drives and set up my data partitions on these as a mirror. I want to extend the partion that the system partition resides on to take up the unallocated space and give the OS room to breath and then remirror this drive to give me 2 x 80Gb system drives mirrored.

I have reviewed hundreds of posts on this and I am still not sure if this is possible. Most of them seem to suggest that as this is a dynamic drive converted from a basic drive with the dell partition at the front and is also a system partition it cannot be done.

I have tried using diskpart on drive 1 which contains the old mirror of the system drive and is also dynamic. This extends fine. Using this on drive 0 fails as it says it can't be done on a system drive.

Before I go ahead and purchase a third party utility I want to be sure of a solution as their are a lot of posts from people who have failed using all sorts of different utilities.

Can anybody give me some advice on this to clarify the situation.

So, correct me if I'm wrong, you're trying to extend the C: drive, right?

Why? Is it low on space? If so, you probably don't have SBS setup right. In which case, you need to move services off the C: drive and onto other partitions. 12 GB is MORE than enough space for an SBS C: drive if it's properly setup.
