My finding: On my monitor screen there is error message keep on looping, the error > EXT3-fs error (device sd(8,3)) in ext3_orphan_add: IO failure I/O weeie: dev 08.03, sector 0 EXT3-fs error (device sd(8,3)) in ext3_orphan_add: IO failure I/O weeie: dev 08.03, sector 0 EXT3-fs error (device sd(8,3)) in ext3_orphan_add: IO failure I/O weeie: dev 08.03, sector 0 My temporary solution: Force restart server. System works normally but when error happen again, my end user will face the same problem. The message I curious in /var/log/message: aic79xx: PCI3:3:0 MEM region 0x0 unavailable. Cannot memory map device. Soln An fsck is probably not going to fix this, but you can try. The safe way is either to force an fsck at boot ('touch /forcefsck' and reboot) or to boot from a CD in rescue mode and do the fsck from there. The IO error could be a bad spot on the disk, but the error for the aic79xx may indicate a problem with the motherboard or disk controller (the aic79xx is a SCSI controller). Taken together those two errors suggest a hardware problem. |
