Enjoy Mac-Like Remote Control Features on a PC
Today's computers are capable of carrying out extended multimedia functions, being quite often used as the core of one's home entertainment system. However, controlling all of these functions can prove to be rather difficult, especially from a distance and this is the reason why the people over at USB Geek came up with the USB Media Remote, a device that allows users to access their computer's multimedia-related features even for afar.
Thus, the device allows users to carry out a wide variety of functions, as for example play music, watch DVDs or view various photos. For this purpose, the USB Media Remote has been equipped with Arrow, Enter, Back and Page keys to navigate Windows Media Center As expected, the device is extremely portable, measuring just around 85.8 mm x 54.2 mm x 5.0 mm, at a weight of around 19 grams. The fact that it's so thin and lightweight allows users to store it within a notebook's PCMCIA Slot (slightly protruding outside of the slot), for example, which means that it can be very easily carried around.
and give PowerPoint presentations, as well as Volume controls to crank the volume up and down in any Windows program, as for example PowerPoint, Windows Media Player, RealPlayer, Power DVD, Winamp, etc.
Furthermore, the remote control features media controls (Play, Pause, Fast Forward and Rewind) which allow users to control videos, DVDs, live and recorded TV programs or music. Furthermore, the device also supports the addition of custom-defined user keys.
The USB Media Remote is powered by a Lithium battery (CR2025) and works on the 2.4GHz frequency on distances of up to 30 feet (10 meters). Furthermore, it is compatible with the most common Windows operating systems on the market, namely Windows Vista, XP, 2000, ME.
