There are DST patches for Exchange and Windows, but no "patches" for Outlook. I understand that there is a "tool" that does not modify the program, but only modifies calendar entries. Are these two statements correct? We have just recently applied Windows and Exchange DST patches to the Exchange servers. None of the clients have been patched yet. Is there any difference between a calendar entry made before the server patch versus after the server patch? We plan to update all the client OS first, then run the DST tool on the Exchange server. Will this fix all the problem calendar entries? |

True and true. There are no patches for Outlook, but there are two versions of the Time Zone Update Tool: Exchange Tool requiring no individual action by clients Update Tool which can be pushed to all clients for individual updating of Outlook >>Is there any difference...<< There is no difference between before and after --- the Update tool MUST be used for all calendar entries produced under 2006 rules. >>Will this fix all calendar entries?<< Yes and no --- non-recurring calendar entries will likely require the scheduler's personal attention since the entries contain no time zone information. A possible complication which MAY require running both versions of the Tool. |
