Default Steps To Create a PowerPoint Photo Album - Slide Show

This guide helps you step by step to create a Powerpoint photo slide show, which contains sound and pictures. In that way, you can get a surprisingly beautiful photo slide show.

The software you need:

Microsoft PowerPoint 2007/XP/2003/2002/2000/ (for Powerpoint 2000,please install the add in of microsoft first, there is the download URL at the end of the article )

Have you ever thought about creating a photo-and-music slide show like you had seen in the exhibition? People like these slide shows because of their beautiful transitions and animations,
Follow these three simple steps to create a PowerPoint photo slide show for your special event!

Summary of this three steps:
1,Create a folder contain your photos

2.From the Insert menu, point to Picture, and then click New Photo Album.

Click File/Disk or Scanner/Camera to insert your pictures.
In the Photo Album dialog box, under Album Layout, choose Picture layout and Frame shape options. See how the photos look in the Preview window.
Select other options that you would like to use. When you're finished, click the Create button.
3.Save your presentation, and then view the photo album in Slide Show view.Add slide show transitions and sounds to make your photo album even more fun to view.

STEP ONE: CREATE THE PRESENTATION

Before opening PowerPoint, create a folder on your desktop or in My Documents. Right-click in either location and select New Folder. Then click the folder and name it "Photo Slide Show" or another name. With dozens of photos to work with, creating a folder is necessary.
Next, Create a New Slide show in PowerPoint.
Enter the slideshow name by clicking the Title Text box.

STEP TWO: INSERT PHOTOS

Before tackling this step, you'll want to save all your photos on your computer, on a storage device like a floppy or CD, or on the network. If some photos are on paper only, scan and save them to one of the locations mentioned above.
To add photos to your slide show,
Click Insert-Picture-New photo album, browse to find the project folder (in which you've saved your photos!), and double-click the photo you want to insert, you can press Ctrl + mouse click or shift + mouse click to choose more photos a time.
You might want to move, rotate, set contrast and brightness or decorate your photo. Just click the photo and then the Editing Toolbar will appear on the title above, editing photos as desired.
Reorder the sequence of your pictures using the up and down arrow keys below the listing of the pictures
Choose a picture layout frame shape and a template you like below at ‘Album Layout’
Save your work frequently.
You also might want to save a backup copy of your slide show in another
location -- on another computer, a USB drive, or the network, for example. This project will take some time to create; it would be heartbreaking to lose your work if you forge to save it during the working process.

STEP THREE: ADD MUSIC & Animation

Decide which slide you'd like the music to inserted to . The title slide or the first photo slide usually is a good choice.
Music can be added to a PowerPoint presentation from one of two places: from a music file (such as an MP3 or MP4 file) saved on your computer, or from a CD playing on the computer while the slide show is running.
If you want to use music saved on your computer:
Click Insert>Movies and Sounds>Sounds from File. (for PowerPoint 2007,the sound option is on the right of the control panel)
Select the right file and click Insert.
When asked, "Do you want the file to play automatically?," click Yes.
If you want to use music on a CD:
Click Insert>Movies and Sounds>Play CD Audio Track.
Choose the sound track you want to play, how much of it you want to play (in seconds), and whether you want to loop the sound (keep playing the song through the slideshow).
Click OK.

Hint: The easiest way to use music is to play a CD from beginning to end.
Then add animation of each slide ,just click the animation and choose which you like.
You can select several slides and add the same animation
Save the photo album ------end

TIPS FOR PRESENTING YOUR SLIDE SHOW

1,Copyright: Be sure to check your district or school policy for using copyrighted materials before adding pictures taken by portrait studios, yearbook photos taken by non-school photographers, or music written or performed by someone other than yourself or your students. If copyright issues have not been addressed by you, start the discussion with the Copyright Quiz or Two-Page Copyright Chart; both are free Copyright Resources available from Hall Davidson, a leading expert on the topic.

2,Be aware that custom animations and animation schemes (fancy ways of moving text, graphics, and slides) sometimes can interfere with music, especially when you want the music to keep playing over a number of slides.

3,Reduce the size of photos .Digital camera photos often are very large.
Compression
There's more to the Photo Album thing yet - if you started with high resolution images, you'll find your Photo Album presentation saves to a huge size - if you want to email it to others, follow these steps:
  1. Right-click any picture (actually an AutoShape with a picture fill) and choose Format | AutoShape.
  2. Choose the Picture tab in the resultant tabbed dialog box and click the 'Compress' button.
  3. Change the resolution to Web/Screen and choose to apply to all pictures in the document (presentation). Click 'OK' and then 'Apply' to the next dialog box. Click OK again.
  4. Resave the presentation.
If you have the time and want the album to be smaller, try to save photos in a smaller size (around 400 KB is great). You'll lose some detail, but the smaller size photos will allow the slide show to load and run faster.
To reduce the size of photos on a PC, use Photoshop or another photo editing software, or go to Programs>Accessories>Photo Editor. Click File>Open and open the photo. Click File>Save As and then decrease the size of the picture by moving the toggle bar closer to "smaller file/low quality." Rename the picture something you'll recognize as the smaller sized photo (SmallBasketballTourn.jpg, for example). Make sure you save the photo to your project folder, and then click OK.

4,The smoothest way to transition from slide to slide in a photo show is to make sure each slide transition (Format>Slide Transition)(for powerpoint2007 it is in the Animation menue ) is set to move automatically to the next slide after 3-5 seconds. That way, you don't have to click through the show using the mouse.

5,When you finished your wonderful Photo album, you may want to share it with your family or friends.
You can convert it to Flash to have an online play. this tool PPT2Flash can be found in http://www.sameshow.com
Or you can burn it to DVD to play it on TV , just use a remote control. This tool is in http://www.ppt-to-dvd.com
If your friends or your family or your audience have no PowerPoint in their computer , they can download PowerPoint viewer produced by Microsoft on http://www.microsoft.com

6, PowerPoint 2000 Add-in: Photo Album Add-in Program http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=EN Download the Photo Album add-in program for PowerPoint 2000. This feature makes it easy and fast to get pictures from your hard disk drive, scanner, or digital camera into a presentation. Enjoy it!
Before presenting the show to an audience, be sure to preview it several times to make sure the music lasts all the way through to the final slide.
