I have set my Display Property > Appearance > Colo Scheme > Silver. But somehow or rather it just keeps on going back to the default Lunar blue occasionally. Question is, how can I set "Silver" as the default theme. Any help will be greatly appreciated by this newbie. Many many thanks in advance. ![]() Last edited by Nebularise; 28-Sep-2006 at 09:58 AM. |

My take is there is a conflict with one of the program that start up together with Window XP. As sometime it started ok, and not at time. Would appreciate if there is a way to change default System Color Scheme from the like of msconfig or other. Once again, thanks . |

First take a little trip to: (Back this directory up by copying it to your desktop or something like that..) C:\WINDOWS\Resources\Themes\ (Problem here is that I dont have that silver theme.. )Then You probably have a folder named Luna and a luna.theme file etc.. Just put the silver files instead of all those.. If u have a silver folder, duplicate it, i.e. copy paste and then rename it to Luna after deleting the original luna folder. That may work, but as said, its not tested, and u should have it changed to SILVER while doing this if not u will fuck up XP if your even able to delete the file then seeing that its prolly in use by explorer.exe.. In another case, your silver theme might be a .dll file, then just copy that and a replace all the others with it, changing it's name as needed. Thereby having different names for the themes, while they in reality remains the same ![]() |

well, it isn't very smart to do the trick as EDPB explained above, because the point that it changes back is a conflict, so if u make it default, the conflict will come up and it might be that your computer won't start anymore, or you get "nice" errors you need to find out what program is conflicting this trouble and remove that program.. ------------------ 2oo7 |

EDPB: Er... sounds too much of a risk, but thanks anyway. Tijnema : You are probably right, however, the conflicting program seem to be one of my internet security program, removing it may not be advisable. Really grateful for all your advices, I truly appreciate the help. |
