the volume appears to contain unrecoverable problems

hi, i really need help:
this morning as I booted my pc ( XP pro) it said hal.dll was missing
I have tried to do on the recovery consolle c:\>chkdsk /p and it said at 25% volume apperars to contain one or more unrecoverable problems
can somebody help me?! thanks I will really appreciate

well, hal.dll is missing, that can have a lot of causes, one of the causes is that the XP partition needs to be the active partition and needs to be a primary partition.
if that's set right, there's probably only 1 solution, reinstall windows XP, u can just reinstall XP without losing data...
