System Volume Information Folder growing

Question: Hi. For the past 2 weeks, my System Volume Information folder has been growing very rapidly. My C drive is completely full now. Why is this happening, and how do I stop it, and how do I free up that space again. Each file in that folder is about 700Mb in size. I need to step this very urgently. I am running Windows 2003 Professional, with 2 harddrives, mirrirored. Please help

I've had lots of instances where BackupExec forgot to delete it's OpenFileAgent temp file and used up a lot of space. After the next backup job kicked off, it freed up the space again.

To delete the system restore files (but not turn off the feature) go to Start>Run>cleanmgr

Select your C: drive and let it run. After it finishes click the "More Options" tab and you can click "Cleanup" under the System Restore option. It will delete all old system restore files except the most recent which will free up the most space without turning off this feature entirely
