Default DST Updating for Exchange 2003/Outlook 2003, SQL 2000

I am interested in finding out some information about updating Exchange 2003 & SQL for DST compliance as a result of the changes enacted this year for DST.

I am looking to find out several items

1) I want some feedback on preforming the updates for my exchange 2003, Outlook 2003 and SQL 2000 software packages. I know where to find the DST patches however, the limited experience i had with installing the Windows XP SP2 made me kringe as I had an update to the DST update I downloaded, and installed on machines. It wouldn't of bothered me however it wasn't 24 hours past that they needed another update. I do not trust microsoft's documentation since they failed to neglect when downloading the update via microsoft.com/dst2007 that their was an additional one and it took double the amount of time to do. Ugh... terrible
2) I want the best and most direct method of installing the Exchange 2003 and Outlook 2003 patches. I would prefer not to have to touch all my machines that are running Outlook 2003 as that's a involved process. What's the best way to update Outlook to ensure the calender's are ready for DST. Is there a script or a special trick to doing those machines.
3) I have a SQL 2000 server. I want to ensure that's ready for DST. From what i hear with Exchange being multi-step process and complicated although i haven't seen it, i want to ensure i understand some of the in's and outs with running that update. Again i'm looking for the most direct process that ensures 100% success.
4) What verison of Java is DST ready?

Mainly my question is to find some insight with preforming the updates and links to the downloads i need for DST 2007. I want to confirm that the one's i use match what others are using as i don't want to update an update. In the case of updating and update, i was fustrated as I patched an application as a stop-gap until i recently preformed an update earlier this evening that would allow the application to work normally without a stop gap. When microsoft updated their update, the application stopped working along with Microsoft Outlook 2003 since the app uses a plugin to interact with outlook.

The following link has links to patches for each product.
Daylight Saving Time Help and Support Center for IT professionals.

Patch your servers OS (KB931836) first, then client OS (KB931836), then Exchange (KB926666)

To update all your users' Exchange calendars, use the Virtual Machine for Microsoft Exchange Calendar Update Tool. This will let you skip updating each Outlook 2003 client.
Download details: VM for Exchange Calendar Update Tool

A patch for SQL 2000 is only necessary if you're running Notification Services, otherwise the OS patch (KB931836) will suffice on a SQL 2000 server. Exchange requires both the KB916836 (install first) and the Exchange-specific hotfix KB926666 (install second).
