1) a satellite modem with a fixed IP address is the main access to the internet 2) attached to the satellite modem is a 4 port hub 3) the hub attaches to two devices: a netgear firewall and a Belkin router 4) the netgear firewall and the belkin router each have a unique fixed IP address 5) the Windows 2003 server connects directly to the netgear firewall 6) various computers are attached to the belkin router 7) the computers on the belkin router are not networked to the server on the netgear firewall 8) both the netgear firewall and the belkin router serve as DHCP servers. The server has a reserved IP address on the netgear firewall and is set to receive and transmit for IIS, FTP, and so forth. RRAS is installed and configured. I can access the site through http and https, and that is fine. I can also form a VPN connection via PPTP from a remote computer. Here is where I am stuck: 1) I can’t get VPN to work over IPSec even though I have certificate services working 2) I don’t know how to allow FTP and RDP only over VPN 3) Computers on the Belkin router cannot form any VPN connection whatsoever I suspect that there is some IP or gateway issue that causes the server to think that the machines on the Belkin router are on the same network or something. I would appreciate any advice |
