I want to create a subdomain, like blog.mydomain.com, and have it redirect the DNS entries offsite to blogger (to ghs.google.com). In other words, when someone types in blog.mydomain.com, the blogger page will show up without changing the url location bar. Right now, any subdomain (including non-existing ones) displays the main site. So if I type in blog.mydomain.com right now, it displays what is on MyDomain.com – Buy Domains for $8.50 – Free Domain Name Management tools (without changing what is in the location bar). I've done this with a hosted linux server through a webpanel, so I know some basics, but I don't know how to do it on this windows server. The windows server doesn't have any fancy DNS stuff set up (I don't think), and my knowledge of windows servers is limited, but I have managed to install the DNS manager thing in IIS and tried to set up a forward lookup zone (test.mydomain.com), but it doesn't work (it still loads the main site). I'd lke to know how to do this, and if possible, how to test that it works without waiting the hours for the DNS stuff to propogate. |
