Default DNS Issue - HELP???

Question: We have some dedicated heb hosting which hosts our main site domain.com - Get online with a domain name and web hosting, but our email is located on our own exchnage servers and we have an mx record redirecting mail.domain.com to our public IP Address.

I have just created a sub domain called digital.domain.com and we cannot access it from our offices where the exchange server is, but the ISP says they can no problem.

Is there anything I need to do with either the DNS records on our windows 2003 server or ISA 2004.

Any help would be much appreciated, NewAS.

Since you mention Exchange I assume this is an AD Domain?

Is your AD Domain Name the same as your Public Domain Name? If so, you will need to duplicate any changes you make to your Public DNS System on your private one.

For this particular case you can Delegate the Subdomain from your DNS Servers to your ISPs which will then mean that any records under that subdomain will resolve via your ISP rather than needing you to add records everywhere.

To do that, open the DNS Console, expand Forward Lookup Zones and select your Zone. Right click and select New Delegation, follow the steps until it asks for the IP Address of a server to delegate to, then add the IPs of your Public DNS there.

I hope that all makes sense?
