Default Windows cannot query for the list of Group Policy Objects error on local XP client.

Question: I just setup a new Dell PC with XP Pro for an existing user. When he logs on to the Windows 2003 server domain and tries to access one specific shared folder, he gets an error message that he can not access the folder. The event log on his PC shows error "Windows cannot query for the list of Group Policy Objects." He can see all his other shares on the server, just not this one in particular. I still have his old PC. When he logs using to his old PC with the same user account he can see all shares without any problems. The only unusual thing about the new PC is that it came with McAfee security pre-installed. I uninstalled it and installed our standard AV from Trend Micro. I looked in MSCONFIG and Services and didn't see any McAfee components still running.

First off
I would reload the box. We are a dell user with over 200 computer in our main office. Dell always ships a funky image.

How many DC do you have?
If more then one run dcdiag and netdiag.

Are the old computer and new computer named the same?
If so reload.

Any errors on the server?
