Internet Explorer not working in Vista

Question: I am using a new laptop with Vista Business Edition, which is generally a great improvement over XP Pro. My big niggle is with IE7 which worked fine for a week or so and then ceased to work - the message says Internet Explorer Has Ceased to Work and gives two options - one for closing the program, the other for going online to look for a solution (which is not possible). Normally, I use Firefox, which has no problems at all. I know about the Internet options and the Reset button, which then enables IE7 to work, but having closed the browser, it then fails to launch again when next I try. What a pain.

He's running this on Vista. IE6 is not available on Vista.

Steve, perhaps DEP is interfering. Try disabling it for IE7.

Is Omnipage installed on this machine? Is it the latest? Can you upgrade? Does it have a button add-on for browser? Possibly uninstall Omnipage and see how it goes.

What AV is on this machine?
