Driver foils attempted carjacking in Vista
VISTA ---- A youth who tried to steal a woman's car in Vista ran when she refused to give him her keys, sheriff's Sgt. Mark Varnau said Thursday. Varnau said the blond-haired boy, about 16 or 17, demanded the car keys about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 700 block of Eucalyptus Ave. "He said he would get violent if she didn't give up the keys," the sergeant said. The woman refused and the would-be carjacker fled, he said. No weapons were seen. |
