Details: My laptop is brandless, bought from Finland and it was locally assembled. I do not know the model name of the motherboard, but I can try to find out using SiSoftware Sandra Lite if required. The wireless adapter in my laptop is Intel PRO Wireless 2200BG. The button works just fine in Windows XP (it turns the wireless adapter on successfully), but only after I install a stupid piece of software called EzButton, get into the directory of that program, and run a file called WirelessConnection.exe. My main problem now is that this EzButton software does not install on Windows Vista. And I wish I did not need to install this software or use it; or install an alternative piece of software that would also work on Vista...like install it once, it becomes invisible in the system file or so, and have my button working without this EzButton thing starting up every time I run Windows. Can you help me with this? Many thanks for anyone taking the time to help. |

Other info I dug up, the Intel Proset software isn't supported in Vista and that may be the final stumbling block here. I did find XP drivers but no Vista drivers for the FIC WB-B55 at the bottom of this page IT Advantage Inc. - Your Complete Computing Solutions Provider As to your question-"How can I make my laptop wirless *button* work in Microsoft Windows Vista (for PRO Wireless 2200BG)?" It seems you can't. |
