Can a Vista OEM Home Premium DVD be used to upgrade from XP Home SP2

Can an OEM DVD of Windows Vista Home Premium be used to UPGRADE a PC currently running Windows XP Home SP2 to Windows Vista Home Premium (i.e UPGRADE meaning leave all the apps and personal data still there). Assuming the DVD has never been used before.

If so please reply with the option choices when the DVD is put in before the install begins. i.e WHERE DO YOU CHOOSE UPGRADE INSTEAD OF FULL INSTALL?

Please no replies like "for about the same money you can get a retail vista upgrade DVD". I know that. PLEASE ANSWER THE QUESTION AS STATED ONLY.
