I guess at the end of the day the implementation of UAC, is flawed in some ways. Or maybe its not UAC's fault, maybe its a design fault of windows itself, because you can't ask for permission to show the icons of files in your desktop (that would be crazy). Anyways, if MS knew about this exploit 100 days ago, why are they dragging their foot in releasing the patch? People's computers are being devoured as we speak in World of Warcraft-sphere. So this marked the first exploit that made a public outcry, and showed that even with the new security improvements in Windows Vista, these improvements are not enough nor sufficient to prevent code execution from running behind a user's back. |
