The device, \Device\Ide\iaStor0, did not respond within the timeout period. I'm also getting the same error in Event Viewer/Windows Logs/System. I am running a Dell Precision 390 non-RAID w/ 4GB of RAM. This is my second Precision 390 in as many weeks, the first one performed so poorly I returned it, and it had the same error (the Dell techs could not help). On this machine I disabled the Intel Rx Matrix Event Storage Monitor and the RAID Event Monitor in msconfig and still no joy. I've googled and seem some frustrated comments about a faulty RAID controller that Dell ships and so I think this is the problem. Can anyone help? |

http://downloadfinder.intel.com/scripts-df-external/filter_results.aspx?strTypes=all&ProductID=2261&OS FullName=Windows+Vista*+Business%2C+32-bit+version&lang=eng&strOSs=154&submit=Go%21 Specifically(even though you probably didn't install it at install time) If this doesn't alleviate the problem, start investigating hard drive failure. Other options might be to disable shadow copies (previous versions), search indexing, and anything else that might require significant I/O. you want to install the INF update, also updating iastor.sys, that's the matrix |
