"Files that are critical to client setup cannot be be copied to this client computer. A network administrator must reinstall the client deployment component on the server by using microsoft windows small business server setup, which is available in add or remove programs. then run client setup again." I have reinstalled client deployment on the server setup but there is no change to this error. I have downloaded and tried to install KB926505 update which should make allow vista client deployment but SBS2003 tells me this is already installed. I have also tried to connect to the domain from the system properties - computer name window where I have changed the network from workgroup to domain. I put the domain name in and it asks me for the administrators username and password which I enter but then get the following error: "An attempt to resolve the DNS name of a DC in the domain being joined has failed. Please verify this client is configured to reach a DNS server that can resolve DNS names in the target domain." These are the things I have been able to achieve: 1. Added proxy details to Internet Explorer and am able to connect to the internet by using the SBS2003 server name and '8080' port. 2. Am able to ping the IP address of the SBS2003 server. 3. Am able to ping the actual SBS2003 server name. 4. Am able to ping other clients in the domain using IP adress' and client names. It might be worth noting that I have recently changed server hardware and used a Swing Migration to achieve this. One of the most recent problems I have had across the network is getting DHCP server to assign IP address to client computers and I am havign to resort to giving the clients a static IP to allow them domain conection. I have SBS2003 premium edition with all updates installed and ISA server 2004 with all updates installed. When I was finishing the swing migration ISA 2004 did not add the usual default firewall policies it normally does and I had to manually enter alot of these policies. I am not 100% sure if I have missed any important policies that may be causing some DHCP problems or causing these Vista related problems. |
