Windows Vista Search ( Replace Windows Vista Search )

In windows vista i need to be able to EASILY search non indexed directories for information within files.
For example I need to find the despatch file with despatch PNZ123.
Pre VISTA this was easy. I would just go to the Despatches Directory, F3, filename despatches*.txt , search for PNZ123.
VISTA does not seem to have this option. Can anyone please advise how I can easily do this

The search box is not in the most intuitive place !
