audio crackles in vista please help

hi all...i really hope you can help me...as i'm stumped

i'm running an emachines T5224...here's the specs:

2.8 ghz pentium d
2 gigs ddr2 mem
sigmatel high def. audio codec
nvidia geforce 7300 gt (512 mb pci-e)

mp3's and sound from videos stutter....this is driving me crazy....please help...

so far i've tried increasing my page file, i have nearly 120 gigs free hd space....<pulls at his ever greying hair>

i've actually tried a different soundcard as well (a creative labs soundblaster usb) and i still had probs...the last thing i did was turn off enhancements from the sound option in the ctrl panel...

all help is def. appreciated...thanks in advance,

Whats the model number on that wireless N card ? You say USB Card ? but is it PCI CARD? or is it external and hooks up to the USB port in the back? - Also and see if you can use another video card - just to see if the sound is still crackeling.
