We have 9 machines in the lab. The server I want to save the images to is plently fast and has plenty of space. The workstations would be typical except we are doing a dual boot situation. Windows XP/Office 2003 and Windows Vista/Office 2007. I've called my sales rep but haven't heard back about licensing issues. I'm wondering if I'll need a license for each OS or each computer? Is Nortons Ghost 10 the version I need? or is there a corporate version for backing up over the network? When I'm complete I should have 43 machines ghosted. Many of which are the exact same setup. I've never used Ghost but I've heard quite a bit about it in the past. Am I able to install the software on one machine then ghost it to the rest of the machines if they are exact? How do I manage the SID? computer name? joining the network? Since this could be a fairly expensive venture I'll post 500 points for helping. I'm also willing to hear about competting products. |

As far as I am concerned you just have to have one ghost license per machine. Sysprep How to use the Sysprep tool to automate successful deployment of Windows XP |
