Motherboard: Gigabyte Soket A GA-7VAX Processor: AMD Athlon XP 2100+ 1.74GHz 32 Bit OS: (Microsoft Windows Home Premium) Memory: 1G RAM Disk Drives: ST3300831A ATA (300GB Master) WDC WD400BB-32CLB0 ATA (20GB Slave) Display Adapters: Radeon 9800 PRO DVD/CD-ROM drives: BTC BCE1610IM ATA TSST corp CD/DVDW SH-S182M USB Oh yea I also have a Z-Board keyboard running but MS Update found the driver for that OK as well. |

1) What version of McAfee are you running? McAfee 8.0 and below are incompatible with Vista. McAfee 8.5 is the version you want. 2) We have deployed some Vista machines and have not experienced any dramatic issues or rollbacks that our IT team has not been able to resolve. It works great, just some compatibility/hardware issues with current software and hardware that will be resolved in due time. 3) You mentioned that you did a upgrade install from within XP. Is there any way you could try a completely fresh install from DOS? 4) I have been unsuccessful on making Vista run on my home machine, which is also an older Gigabyte motherboard like yours. 5) Try unplugging your 20gb drive. |
