Default Microsoft Demonstrates Windows Vista Media Center

Just in case you managed to miss the worldwide Wow celebration, you should know that September 3 was synonymous with the five year anniversary of Windows Media Center. This is why Microsoft managed to indulge in a rather "subtitle" Windows Media Center display, demonstrating one of the main features built into the Home Premium and Ultimate editions of Windows Vista. Microsoft's Brandon LeBlanc and Nick White both referenced Windows Media Center recently placing a little focus on one of the truly exception aspects of Windows Vista. Taking functionality, capabilities and features such as, or similar to Windows Media Center into the limelight is the right way to go for Microsoft. The Redmond company has wasted a consistent amount of Wow trying to convince the users that the UAC will deliver additional protection only to find the User Account Protection trashed again and again. "Have you ever been in the mood to watch a movie but you don't have a particular one in mind -- and you really don't want to have to go through all the information in the guides to find one that appeals to you? Movie Browser allows you to see a list of movies that are either playing currently or those that will be starting in the near future. While using Movie Browser, you can specify the type of movie you're looking for and search using any of several criteria. Assuming that you have the correct hardware installed to run Media Center, using the Movie Browser is simple. Open Media Center, select "TV & Movies" and navigate to "Search." You can search by any of the following: Title; Keyword; Categories; Movie Actor and Movie Director," revealed Nick White, Microsoft Product Manager while LeBland presented his own Windows Media Center setup.
It is Windows Media Center rather than Internet Explorer 7 that Microsoft should bring to center-stage. Just because Windows Media Center is the kind of unique feature that you simply cannot get in full anywhere else and should be marketed as a Vista pillar instead of being pushed to the background while Windows BitLocker thrives. Microsoft is of course working on the upcoming release of Windows Media Center, codenamed Fiji. The company confirmed in the past that the new version will be stand-alone rather than being included in the operating system. Still, Windows Media Center is also the source of a big disappointment – the remote control advertised in the Windows Vista Product Guide since the RTM of the operating system in 2006, is nowhere to be seen.
