Default Norton Save & Restore v2 "cannot connect to the agent on XXXXX"

Question: Norton Save & Restore v2 "cannot connect to the agent on XXXXX" X is my computer name. Symantec advised that I install .NET Framework 2. After checking I already have .NET2. Running Vista Ultimate on Quad 6600, 4Gb RAM. Trying to backup system and data to external SATA drive (which works fine) from two internal SATAs on one Striped volumn (D. Vista and program files are on seperate drive (C. Performed 2 restarts, suspended firewall and virus scan. Had previously trialed embeded Vista backup... not impressed. Also when I attempt to define a new backup I get an error "Cannot display wizard". I'm sure I have to get past the first error before the later has a chance to cure itself. Any ideas?

Sorry to hear about the bad experience. After you uninstall Norton S&R 2.0, I would run the Symantec removal tool to get rid of any remaining parts.

The two most popular image backup programs seem to be Ghost 12 and Acronis's True Image 10. Both are certified for Vista, but given your bad luck with S&R 2.0, I would recommend TI 10. There is a free trial so you can see how it works on your pc.
