Alt-PrtScn - Print Screen not working

Question: Working with an XP SP2 machine. Everything working normally as far as we can tell, but when we try to use alt-prtscn, ctrl-prtscn, prtscn... none of them capture a window or screen.

No matter what combination we use, when we try to thenso a Ctrl-V, or edit paste in to Word or WordPad... nothing appears.

Suggestions welcome... baffled at the moment.

Also, try Pasting into MS Paint instead of Word. Just to rule that out.
