19-year-old man was killed and two people were wounded when a fight at a Sierra Vista park escalated into shootings, police said.
Shortly after midnight Saturday morning, Sierra Vista police received a report of a shooting at Nancy Hakes Park, 3105 Calle Parkway, just north of Village Meadows Elementary School in the city 70 miles southeast of Tucson.
Police learned that a large fight had broken out, leaving Bach T. Nguyen with a fatal gunshot wound to the head, said Detective Sean Brownson of the Sierra Vista PoliceTwo others — 20-year-old Richard Steven Gouger and a juvenilewhose name and age were not released — were also shot, he said.Both are expected to recover.
No arrests have been made and police were still working on Saturday to determine the motive behind the shootings and the fight, Brownson said.
