Las Vegas, Nevada (AHN) - Software giant, Microsoft has partnered computer chip maker Advanced Micro Devices to market the new Vista operating system with an online puzzle game that offers the winner a rocket ride into orbit around the Earth as top prize.
The game called Vanishing Point is a "large-scale online and offline collaborative puzzle game."
The home version of Vista is set for release on January 30.
The two companies used the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas as a platform to announce the prizes that include Microsoft Zune MP3 players, Xbox 360 video game consoles, Vista-based computers, and a sub-orbital space ride.
The winner will be taken by a NASA-trained astronaut just beyond the Earth's atmosphere for "the ultimate vista" courtesy of Rocketplane Limited Inc., reports Microsoft.
The puzzle game called on players all over the world to solve clues from "spectacular events at various locations" starting at the Bellagio Casino in Las Vegas.
