Microsoft has now certified more than 250 computer systems, peripheral devices and software applications for Windows Vista and ‘Runs on Windows Vista’ logo programmes.
The first logo signals compatibility and the second guarantees a “superior” end-user experience when used with Vista by taking advantage of the software’s new features.
The tycoon also touted its Windows Vista Premium logo programme, which tells the market that a new system will be able to upgrade to Windows Vista Home Premium Edition. Systems capable of Windows Vista Home Basic will be scrutinized by a ‘Windows Vista Capable’ logo.
This version offers several advanced segment features and one of them is the ability to run the Aero graphical interface which requires a fairly advanced graphics processor.
For game freaks, Microsoft will be offering “games for windows” logo programme which guarantees that the game will work on 64-bit Windows Vista and will supports the ‘Windows Vista Games Explorer’ functionality at the same time it will allow users to easily download updates and bonus features enabling parents to block access to inappropriate content based on official game rating systems.
