When I went to install Windows Vista RC1 onto a second partition on my hard drive, I started the setup with XP running hope'ing it would then put an entry to boot xp in its boot settings, but it did not. Now, the machine just boost into vista without any XP option. Now some of you will realize why I need help as Vista has no boot.ini. I am pasting the bcdedit.exe output for refernce and how my drive is layed out. Please, I need to be able to boot into XP again. bcdedit -- Windows Boot Manager -------------------- identifier {bootmgr} device partition=C: description Windows Boot Manager locale en-US inherit {globalsettings} default {current} displayorder {current} toolsdisplayorder {memdiag} timeout 30 Windows Boot Loader ------------------- identifier {current} device partition=D: path \Windows\system32\winload.exe description Microsoft Windows Vista locale en-US inherit {bootloadersettings} osdevice partition=D: systemroot \Windows resumeobject {4078ce31-60ce-11db-851e-ba454d6abb50} nx OptIn D:\Windows\system32> -- Hard Drive Layout ------------------------------------ |C: 50gb part1 |D: 50gb part2| ------------------------------------ PLEASE :/ I didn't realize I would be so in over my head here -dies- Soln Try the free beta program VistaBootPro to edit the boot order: http://www.vistabootpro.org/ |
