Default Asus Announces Vista-Optimized Motherboards

On Wednesday, Asus announced the addition of four new motherboards that will all take advantage of new features within Microsoft's soon-to-be-released Vista operating system
The new Vista editions of the Nvidia nForce 590 SLI (AMD), the nForce 500 SLI (AMD), and two Intel P965-based motherboards will all ship with a remote control unit that allows users to quickly boot or resume media or other applications with the push of a button.
Specifically, the motherboards are: the M2N32-SLI Premium Vista Edition, M2N-Plus Vista Edition, P5B Premium Vista Edition and the P5B-Plus Vista Edition. The first two are designed for the AMD Athlon 64 FX dual-core chips, while the latter two will only accept Intel Core 2 Quad processors.
Working in conjunction with the AP Trigger function, the Asus AI remote also functions as a media player remote and will let PC users to turn their computers on or off and control Asus lifestyle features such as AI Gear and AI
Each board also incorporates ASAP, or Asus Accelerated Propeller, a Flash cache that can be used in conjunction with Vista's ReadyBoost feature to speed up boot times.
The two Premium-class boards, the M2N32-SLI and the P5B Premium Vista Edition, will also come with Asus' ScreenDuo, which the company says will provide a secondary display panel that lets the user view a USB-connected secondary display that runs its own OS and supports Vista's laptop-oriented SideShow system.
ScreenDuo can display RSS feeds, provide access to media content stored on the host PC's hard drive, and provide an email checking and read-out facility, according to Asus.
Finally, a TPM, or trusted platform module, will allow for enhanced data protection through Microsoft Vista's BitLocker hardware encryption features. It will be available as an option on all four motherboards.
All four boards will support dual-channel DDR 2 clocked at up to 800MHz. Asus hasn't released pricing information or availability.
