No matter what I try, I cannot get Vista to recognise my broadband connection. I have two machines and when they ran XP there was no problem. I changed one machine to a clean install of Vista Premium and that machine will not recognise my internet no matter what. I have tried disconnecting my xp machine and direct connecting the vista machine to my broadband modem/router but nothing. Even though the cable was fine when the machine had xp installed, I changed it and still nothing. I called my ISP provider and they insisted that vista would automatically recognise the connection so it must be the cable, which has been changed!

Any idea's other than formatting and re-installing XP would be extremly greatfully recieved.

I would suggest to check in the firewall settings ,most likely the broadband connection would be up might be bcos of firewall you are unable to access net
