Question: Windows XP laptop won't get IP address. It's set to DHCP, it just says "acquiring network address" but never gets one. I've tried it with cat5 cable and wireless to the router with no luck. All other PCs on the network are fine. Tried to disable windows firewall, and it says it can't start windows firewall/internet connection sharing service. Went into services, DHCP just says "starting" in status, and never changes status. When I try to stop then start the windows firewall service, it says "Could not start the Windows Firewall/Internet Connection Sharing Service (ICS) on local computer. Error 10093: Either the application has not called WSAstartup, or WSAstartup failed." What does this error mean, and how to resolve it?
